ArtsAlive! is a competition between Allegan County arts and
cultural organizations. Each summer, organizations vie for
each other for the most number of votes. Each vote costs $1.
At the end of the competition, all organizations keep the
money from their votes and the top five get to split a bonus.
This competition was conceptualized during these difficult
economic times to help keep the arts alive in Allegan County.
On the website, the votes are tallied via content
management system each week. The number of votes for each
organization, ranked from most to least, appear on the website.
During the last two weeks of the competition the number of
votes goes dark in order to ramp up the competition and increase
curiosity. Over $100,000 has been awarded to date.
